The best transfer from Athens Airport to the city center

There are indeed numerous options for reaching Syntagma Square, Monastiraki, Plaka, and the downtown districts. However, Athens traffic can be a real hindrance, potentially causing you to miss out on a great restaurant or the beautiful Acropolis.

That is why we recommend using the metro. This is for us the best transfer from Athens Airport to the city center; with Line 3, you can travel without having to change lines, avoiding rush hour traffic. We do not recommend using the bus unless you need to reach areas served only by one of the lines available.

If, on the other hand, you prefer to travel comfortably by taking a cab, be aware that the prices may not be the most affordable. However, you have two alternatives for booking a ride directly from your phone, with the Free Now and Uber apps. Overall, getting to downtown Athens from the airport is easy and convenient, taking approximately 35 minutes to cover the 30km distance.
