Our selection of the best places where to work and study in Mitte

The best of all – Soho House

Address: Torstraße 1, 10119 Berlin.

Opening hours: 10:00-19:00.

This private club has an area open to the public on the ground floor. Its style and attention to detail distinguish Soho House from most other locations not only in the Mitte area but throughout Berlin. We too often prefer this place to work remotely. If you enter the main entrance, pass the shop area. In the two connected rooms, there are numerous comfortable tables and the power sockets are located along the walls. The wi-fi connection is excellent and the music is always pleasant. Sometimes you can also find a DJ who chooses music for you live. Also, do not miss the Cecconi’s restaurant, which is also on the ground floor, to the left of the main entrance. If you want to spend a little (about 12 euros, drinks not included) we suggest you try the restaurant at lunchtime, when the dishes of the day are offered at affordable prices.

The place to be discovered – The Castle

Address: Invalidenstraße 129, 10115 Berlin.

Opening hours: Mo-Fr 8:00-2:00, Sa and Su 10:00-2:00.

In our opinion, The Castle is one of those places that are quite underestimated. In fact, it has everything you need to work, even if in the evening the environment can become more animated. Also here you will find a great wi-fi connection, wide tables, and excellent beer and drinks at reasonable prices. For the winter there are numerous indoor seats and in summer you can also stay in the outside garden, without losing your internet connection. It is also easy to find electrical outlets to recharge your devices. It could be a small discovery and for sure it’s one of the best places where to work and study in Mitte. You have to try it.

The place to REdiscover – Betahaus

Address: Rudi-Dutschke-Straße 23, 10969 Berlin.

Opening hours: Mo-Th 9:00-20:00, Fr 9:00-18:00.

Betahaus is one of the most important meeting places for the startup scene. It hosts an important co-working space and until recently we could not have cited it in this article because it was in Kreuzberg. But they recently moved to Mitte, nearby the Checkpoint Charlie. The owners promise customers the same atmosphere as before in a completely new environment, with a panoramic terrace on the rooftop. Although there is still some work in progress, Betahaus remains a great place to work, study and perhaps networking. If you used to visit this café in the old times, now is the time to rediscover it.

The institution  – St. Oberholz

Address: Rosenthaler Str. 72A, 10119 Berlin.

Opening hours: Su-Th 8:00-22:00, Fr and Sa 8:00-12:00.

St. Oberholz in Rosenthaler Platz is an institution. There is little to say, it is always full and everyone is always happy with the treatment. Here too, as at Betahaus there is a co-working space atmosphere (also because on the upper floors there is a co-working space too) and is one of the meeting points of many young startup entrepreneurs. The hipster environment and the cosy spaces offered, make it one of the best places where to work and study in Berlin Mitte. The only downside is its popularity because it is often difficult to find a seat. If you are in the area around you have to give it a try. Good luck.

The tech place – The Digital Eatery (Microsoft café)

Address: Unter den Linden 17, 10117 Berlin.

Opening hours: Mo-Fr 8:30-19:00, Sa 11:00-19:00, Su 11:00-18:00.

We chose to include The Digital Eatery in the best places where to work and study in Berlin Mitte for two main reasons. First of all, because it’s a great place and also it is something different if we consider the standards of Berlin. Here you will not find many hipsters or fashionable people, but rather workers who prefer an environment purely dedicated to technology. Everything is designed to make you use your laptop. The power outlets are more or less everywhere, the wi-fi connectio is great and you can also enjoy a few games with the Xbox. We must also consider that its position is amazing because it is located in Unter den Linden, near the intersection with the famous Friedrichstrasse. Perhaps here you can find some tourists, but well what to say, they don’t bite!

The best if you want to really work – Berliner Stadtbibliothek

Address: Breite Str. 30-36, 10178 Berlin.

Opening hours: Mo-Th 10:00-21:00, Sa 10:00-19:00.

Now let’s talk about serious things. When you decide to work remotely in a café, you must consider that however quiet it is, it still remains a café. It is not for everyone to work always with some background noise and you will not find them here. The Stadtbibliothek is located directly behind the construction site of the Berlin castle, in a very central area, but away from the crowds. You can not find the exaggerated furnishings of other locations, but a Spartan collective concentration. The wi-fi network is good, although not perfect throughout the building. However, it is not a problem to find the right place to work, close to a source of electricity. If you can not do without your Mate, go to the library café, to the left of the main entrance on the ground floor. During spring and summer, you can also use the tables of the outdoor area in the center of the complex.
