The best transfer from London Heathrow Airport to the city center

Upon landing at the English capital’s main airport, you have several transfer services at your disposal to reach the city center. The option you choose depends largely on your budget and the amount of patience you’re willing to exercise. For us, the best balance between comfort, travel time, and price is the Underground. The Piccadilly Line takes you to the heart of London without any changes, although the journey lasts about 50 minutes.

If you prefer to save time and travel more comfortably, the ideal choice is the Heathrow Express high-speed train. This fast, comfortable, and direct mode of transportation allows you to reach London Paddington Station in no time, bypassing traffic and numerous intermediate stops, albeit at a higher cost.

We do not recommend using couches or cabs, except for reaching destinations poorly served by the Underground, as you may encounter London traffic along the way. During rush hours, traffic can cause significant delays, not to mention the often prohibitive costs for many passengers.

The most affordable alternative can be found by comparing prices offered in the apps of different cab services that transport passengers from London Heathrow Airport to the city center. However, if you prefer to reach the center independently, we recommend using Zipcar’s car-sharing service to rent a car that you can park near your destination.
